The High Sheriff of Oxfordshire 2025-26 is Deputy Lieutenant John May CVO OBE
The High Sheriff of Oxfordshire is HM The King's representative for law and order in the County, supporting the judiciary, law enforcement, and local communities. Appointees serve for one year. John May has been a Deputy Lieutenant for Oxfordshire since 2018. He is part of the Lieutenancy team focused on Cherwell, is the Lieutenancy’s link to villages around Bicester and Kidlington and holds the Lieutenancy’s youth organisations brief for the County. John was sworn in as High Sheriff of Oxfordshire at a ceremony at the Old Assizes Court on 3 April 2025.
